Marcela (b. 1988, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil) lives and works in New York. Florido received her MFA from the Yale School of Art, previously studying at the Slade School of Art and Central Saint Martins in London. In 2016 she received the Viridian Prize by Lauren Hinkson of The Guggenheim museum. Florido has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Monti 8, Rome (2021); Ross + Kramer, NY (2020); Y2K, NY (2019); Anita Schwartz, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2018), among others. Her work has been included in exhibitions internationally at the Sharjah Art Foundation, Sharjah, UAE; ICA Las Vegas; Carl Freedman Gallery, London; Carl Kostyal, Stockholm; and Stems Gallery, Brussels. Public collections include Sharjah Art Foundation and United States Institute – Brazil.
