Bio

Cathy Tabbakh is a French painter working in the UK, with a passion for the mesmerising power of colour. She has been exhibited in various galleries in Europe and the UK and now in New York and Australia. Cathy holds degrees in Fashion Textile and Fine Art (2011) and Art History and Archaeology (2017) – both in Lyon, France. Tabbakh’s work can be found in private collections worldwide and now as part of the Soho House Collection, displayed in Paris, France and Brighton, UK. Cathy’s work collides imaginary forms with existing landscapes through the use of both shadows and botanical elements. Her compositions incorporate a hint of surrealism, as to alter presumed proportion, and a saturated colour palette to punctuate emotive mood. Tabbakh’s still-lifes show her desire to surround herself with green spaces combined with her love for architecture, botany and interior design. She recently introduced ceramics into her practise, reflecting the colourful and bold style of her still-lifes.
