Ellie Kayu Ng (°Hong Kong) is a realist oil painter living and working in Brooklyn, NY. She received her BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts and her MFA in Painting from the New York Academy of Art. Although clothing is a great passion of hers, due to her migration background she has always felt that she was not allowed to stand out. But according to her, clothes tell a story and she finds pleasure in experimenting with outfits that she would like to wear herself. In this way, she presents different identities in her paintings and does not have to take into account rules and norms to fit in. She received a grant from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation and in 2022 Ellie had her first solo exhibition in New York at the VillageOne Art Gallery. She was included in several group exhibitions at galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Brussels, Paris and Tokyo. Her works are now part of important private and museum collections.
