Timon YC I (°1995) is an oil painter, born in Minnesota, raised in Hong Kong, and currently lives and works in Brooklyn. His past living experiences in rural and urban areas have inspired him to explore environments and spaces through oil painting. He tells his story using objects in mysterious spaces. In this way he leaves space for the viewer to form his own story through certain memories or the recognisability of an object. Graduated with a BFA in illustration from the School of Visual Arts and an MFA in painting from the New York Academy of Art, he has been part of group exhibitions in the US and Asia. He also had his first solo exhibition ‘Elements in Space’ at the VillageOne Art Gallery in New York in 2023, and was included in the Volta Art Fair with the gallery two months later.
